On the occasion of the release of the "Nyras Prologue" demo for the Gothic 1 Remake, THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive have released a corresponding trailer:

Unlike the original Gothic, where players took on the role of the Nameless Hero, the remake offers the chance to play as a prisoner named Nyras. However, this does not change the character's goal – he still has to survive in the game's harsh world.

The Gothic Remake demo was released as part of the Steam Next Fest event and has already set a record for concurrent players among all other entries in the series:

The showcased segment of the remake highlights updated graphics, animations, and a combat system built on Unreal Engine 5. Understandably, the prologue cannot fully demonstrate the freedom of action and depth of RPG mechanics that players will experience in the full version of the game.

The release of Gothic Remake is planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (Steam, GOG). The release date has not yet been announced.
