Gaming outlets have published final previews of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, set to release on September 26 for the Nintendo Switch. Echoes of Wisdom takes players back to the roots of the The Legend of Zelda series, according to journalists. The developers have crafted the perfect blend of the modern Tears of the Kingdom and the classic Link's Awakening.

The puzzles in the early levels weren't particularly challenging, journalists acknowledged. However, the rooms could be completed in multiple ways — depending on the player's ingenuity. Echoes of Wisdom also features stealth mechanics. In one level, Zelda needed to sneak past guards without being seen. Players could distract enemies by dropping a pot on the ground.

The magical staff allows players to battle enemies in a multitude of ways. According to reviewers, the approach is entirely up to each player's preference. Echoes of Wisdom imposes no artificial limitations, allowing for full creative freedom.

As the game progresses, the main character gains the ability to create copies of defeated enemies who will then fight for her. This feature adds even more depth and variety to combat and puzzle-solving.

Based on initial impressions, Echoes of Wisdom seems to be an inventive, original, and immensely fun game. According to journalists, Nintendo has refined the classic The Legend of Zelda formula, infusing it with innovations reminiscent of the series' latest entries. The result is something entirely new and wonderful.
