Funcom continues to stoke interest in its game. In Dune Awakening, the school’s adepts emerge as key characters, drawing attention with their unique psychic abilities. These allow them to subdue enemies’ minds, endure Arrakis’ harsh climate, and grant superhuman speed, making them true masters of battlefield control. This approach injects dynamism into the game and opens opportunities for mechanical experimentation—a crucial aspect for an MMO survival title.

The new trailer highlights not only the order’s capabilities but also the incentive for players to explore additional NPC schools to develop their characters, compensate for weaknesses, and enhance strengths. This adds depth to gameplay, offering players variety and multifaceted strategic approaches.

While the game does not follow the canonical events of the Dune universe, it crafts its own alternate reality where the order’s arcane and mystical abilities play a pivotal role in surviving the perils of Arrakis.

Dune Awakening launches on June 10, 2025, but pre-ordering either of the two extended editions grants access as early as June 5.
