Tides of Annihilation is inspired by the legends of the Knights of the Round Table. Players will take on the role of a young woman named Gwendolyn, who must fight alongside ghostly knights to save her family and restore a shattered world.
The game takes place in a devastated modern-day London, which has been overrun by a mysterious otherworldly invasion. The streets are swarming with hordes of enemies that the protagonist and her team must battle. The main enemies in Tides of Annihilation are colossal knights roaming across London. Players will have to take them down by climbing onto them and engaging in intense battles.
Despite the game looking visually stunning, there's one aspect that currently doesn't sell the game. We've seen a new trend where soulslike games adapt classic stories. "Journey to the West" wasn't as well-known in the West, so it felt fresh. The story of Pinocchio in Lies of P also took an unexpected twist. But the story of King Arthur feels like it's been explored many times before. Despite all its beauty, Tides of Annihilation unfortunately lacks that unique hook.
