Fans diving into the remastered version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion have discovered that one of the original game's strangest Easter eggs is still intact. Deep in a hidden testing area, players can find an NPC voiced by none other than Todd Howard, head of Bethesda Game Studios.
Using the console command coc toddtest, players are teleported to a secret debug room that’s been carried over from the original game. There, they meet Alban Corinis — a character likely created to test dialogue mechanics. Though he’s not part of the regular game world, interacting with him yields unexpected results.
Players can manipulate Alban's disposition through dialogue, and if they raise it high enough, he might confess his love — in Todd Howard’s own voice. Alternatively, if players lower the relationship level, Alban will insult them, calling them a "bastard" — again, in Howard’s unmistakable tone.
Other test NPCs also populate the area, including one named Linda Carter, named after the actress who voiced characters in the original game. This obscure location serves as a reminder of how quirky and self-referential Oblivion always was — even in its remastered form.
