Some time ago, Warner Bros. Games claimed that the sequel to the Hogwarts Legacy will be their top priority. However, that does not prevent working on and additional content to an already released game.  According to journalist Tom Henderson, who cited his sources, WB Games is also working on the Director's Cut of one of their most known projects.

The Hogwarts Legacy Definitive Edition will include 10-15 hours of additional content, featuring new quests, affecting both main story and simple side missions, and activities. The expanded edition will also offer extra outfits.

Owners of the original version will be able to purchase the Definitive Edition as a separate DLC. The release date for the expanded edition is still unknown, but Henderson's sources suggested it could launch in 2025, priced between $20-$30.

In July, Jason Schreier reported on the existence of a "director's cut" of Hogwarts Legacy, with Rocksteady Studios assisting in its development.

Hogwarts Legacy was released in February 2023. The game holds an average score of 84 out of 100 on Metacritic from critics and 8.3 out of 10 from users. Sales have surpassed 22 million copies.
