We now know more details about the remaster of the horror game Until Dawn as its release window was revealed during the State of Play broadcast. The remastered version is being developed by Ballistic Moon, not Supermassive Games.

The remaster is set to be released in fall 2024 for PC and PS5. The announcement was accompanied by a story trailer that emphasized the game's non-linear nature. The developers have significantly updated the game's graphics by porting it to Unreal Engine 5, added a fully-fledged third-person view, and re-recorded the sound.

The original game was released in 2015 on PS4 and received favorable reviews, with an average Metacritic score of 79 from critics and 8.3 from players. However, not everyone understood the necessity of the Until Dawn remaster, since the game is not that old. As it was a PlayStation 4 exclusive, it is not that outdated. The question is if some additional content will be added. At least there were some hints towards that in the trailer.
