A recent development update from The Chinese Room offers fresh insights into Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 focusing on the vampire hunters. This faction, known as the Information Awareness Bureau (IAB), operates on a shadow budget despite lacking government support. Their agents hunt vampires, or "Hollow Ones," under the pretense of conducting "training exercises" and "counter-terrorism efforts."

Agent Baker, the bureau's leader in Seattle, is a disciplined pragmatist dedicated to eliminating vampires permanently. She meticulously investigates strange occurrences and studies historical data to understand their connection to the hidden vampire society. Her unwavering authority has earned her the nickname "The Hen" among her loyal followers.

The hunters are well-coordinated and guard their base both externally and internally. Facing them alone is extremely challenging, as they operate in teams, utilize spotlights, and stay connected via portable radios. In battle, they rely on thermic batons that bypass defensive maneuvers and phosphorous grenades to force enemies out of cover. Their sniper crossbows fire explosive bolts that cause devastating damage unless removed quickly.

However, these hunters are not invincible. Physically weaker than ghouls and vampires, they can be countered with specific skills. For example, Fire can catch grenades or bolts mid-flight and return them. Players can also use the Ventru clan's powers to possess an enemy and make them attack their own team.

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 is scheduled to launch in the first half of 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
