Blizzard has released new insights into the in-game housing system coming to World of Warcraft: Midnight While the expansion won’t arrive until after The War Within (as part of the Worldsoul saga), early previews suggest a level of customization far beyond what many players anticipated.
A recent developer blog featured in-game videos showing how furniture placement works. Items align to a grid system with automatic snapping, and players can decorate larger objects like shelves or tables with smaller accessories that stay attached when moved.
The system includes two modes: a Basic Mode for straightforward organization and an Advanced Mode for creative builders. In Advanced Mode, players can rotate objects on all three axes and stack them creatively, enabling the construction of complex and visually striking interiors.

For instance, gnomes might design cozier spaces, while larger races like tauren could opt for more spacious layouts. Certain furniture pieces created specifically for the housing system will support recoloring, though legacy assets may not offer this functionality.
With Midnight still months away, Blizzard continues to tease upcoming content, ensuring players remain engaged and excited about the game’s future updates.
