In 2025, the long-awaited housing system will be introduced in World of Warcraft, and Blizzard has already shared the first details. The developers promise that homes will be available to all players without complex requirements, high prices, or lotteries, and they will not be taken away for lack of a subscription. The full launch of housing content is planned for the Midnight expansion.
At launch, players will be able to choose a plot in one of two zones—For the Alliance (Elwynn Forest with elements from Westfall and Duskwood) or for the Horde (Durotar with elements from Azshara and the Durotar coastline).
Each area will be divided into districts, each containing about 50 houses, and players can settle in either an open area or a private community with friends and guildmates. The developers promise a wide variety of decoration options for customization—most will be available in-game, while some will appear in the shop.
Blizzard emphasizes that the housing concept is built around three principles: wide customization, social interaction, and longevity. In the future, the developers promise to share more information about the housing system, and for now, they encourage players to share their thoughts.
