The game, which has become the successor to legendary series like FlatOut and Destruction Derby, has managed to retain its uniqueness by offering more than just arcade racing—it provides a deeper simulation approach while still staying far from traditional simulators. In early access, players will be able to try out two main modes: single-player races and large-scale derbies with up to 24 participants, where they can compete against both bots and real opponents. Additionally, multiplayer races for 24 players are available, with the option to add bots for even more chaos.
Players will have access to four maps with diverse tracks and one large sandbox:
- Scrapyard — chaotic races through intersections and traffic jams.
- Speedway — an oval figure-eight track, perfect for derbies.
- Sandbox — long routes with the ability to change direction.
- Test Grounds — a massive multiplayer map filled with ramps, obstacles, and other elements that create an atmosphere of total destruction.
The game features four cars: two powerful American muscle cars from the 1960s and 1970s, a classic European car from the 1980s, and an American model from the 1990s. Players will not only be able to customize their vehicles but also create unique designs, save them, and use a photo mode to capture the best moments. Additionally, online leaderboards are available to compete with other racers.
The main highlight of Wreckfest 2 is, of course, the destruction. The new game engine delivers even more detailed collision physics, turning every crash into a spectacular and adrenaline-filled event. The game stays true to its core—racing where speed and madness come together, creating a unique mix of automotive rodeo and high-speed races.
The game will be available in early access starting today, March 20.
