Yesterday, Microsoft announced significant changes to the model of Game Pass along with the global price increase. Probably the biggest highlight was the introduction of the Game Pass Standard tier for consoles, which won't have big games on their day one.

When users asked about the timeline for adding new releases, Windows Central editor Jez Corden explained that the decision would be made on a title-by-title basis. Game Pass Standard subscribers will have to wait at least 6 months, and sometimes 12 or more. It is unclear whether Microsoft will inform subscribers of the timelines in advance.

Currently, Windows Central is the only source of this information, but it seems the publication obtained it from company representatives, who have yet to provide any official clarifications.

Players are clearly dissatisfied with this uncertainty. As some of them say, consumers should know what they are paying $15 a month for, rather than guessing about release timelines.
