As reported by Mat Piscatella, Executive Director and Industry Analyst at Circana, the franchise's latest installment has achieved impressive commercial results. The expert previously noted that the title entered the top-5 highest-grossing games in the US within its first week of release.

The success became evident almost immediately:

  • Within just 48 hours of launch, Ubisoft announced surpassing 2 million players worldwide
  • Over 1 million copies were sold on release day
  • One week after launch, the company confirmed a new milestone — more than 3 million players

According to Circana Retail Tracking Service data (dollar sales, latest figures as of April 5), Assassin's Creed: Shadows maintained its leadership position on American sales charts during each of its first three weeks. The game currently ranks as the second best-selling title of the year so far, trailing only the phenomenal success of Monster Hunter: Wilds.
