AMD’s Vice President David McAfee has confirmed that the Radeon RX 9000 series graphics cards will be unveiled on February 28, moving up from the initially planned March showcase.

The event will be streamed live on YouTube, where AMD will reveal details about the RX 9070 Ti and RX 9070, both based on the RDNA4 architecture. These cards will feature support for FSR4 and a range of other cutting-edge technologies.

While the new cards were initially positioned as competitors to Nvidia’s RTX 4070 and other recent models, AMD has shifted its focus toward other priorities, including AI chips.

The lack of hype surrounding AMD’s new releases continues to baffle fans. The company skipped CES 2025 and opted for a straightforward social media announcement instead of a grand reveal.

The upcoming presentation was announced in the same understated fashion, which may not do much to generate excitement among potential users.

The cards are expected to launch in early March 2025, coinciding with the release of the Ryzen 9 9000X3D processor, suggesting a possible dual launch.

Rumors suggest the RX 9000 series will hit the market on March 6, though official details will be confirmed during the presentation.
