With the big changes (and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6) coming to Xbox Game Pass, more and more people are wondering what the next possible steps for Microsoft are and how they will impact gamers. That's why different analysts shared their vision about the current state of the big Xbox project.

The cost of Game Pass subscriptions will "inevitably" increase in the future due to inflation and a general slowdown in the growth of the subscription service's audience. The trend towards price increases will continue for some time.

Experts believe Microsoft's gaming division needs to increase the average revenue per user. The company can achieve this by raising prices and encouraging existing subscribers to opt for more expensive plans. This will also allow Microsoft to compensate for the decline in sales of digital copies of Call of Duty.

In the future, Microsoft may launch a separate Game Pass plan with built-in advertising, said Joost van Dreunen, the former head of the now-closed analytics company SuperData. According to him, such a move by the company looks realistic, as other services, including Netflix, already offer similar plans.

Microsoft's current strategy for developing Game Pass is risky but could lead to great success. However, if Call of Duty games do not help increase the Game Pass audience, then nothing is likely to help.
