Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has officially become Activision’s most profitable game to date, according to a portfolio update by an analyst who’s worked at the company for over two years. The employee was involved in both Modern Warfare 3 (2023) and Black Ops 6, which launched in November 2024 and has already surpassed all previous titles in revenue.

While Activision hasn’t released exact earnings for the game, it's likely the total is higher than $2.75 billion — the combined lifetime revenue of Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 3 as of 2020. That’s a massive milestone, especially considering Black Ops 6 was launched on Game Pass. It looks like that the more players try the game for free, the more of them are willing to spend at least something.

What’s surprising is how well the game is selling even outside of the subscription model. It continues to perform strongly on PlayStation consoles, and Game Pass users are likely spending money on in-game purchases. That makes sense, since Black Ops 6 is packed with cosmetic content and crossover bundles. Activision has recently been dropping collaboration packs non-stop — and clearly, they’re working.
