Global electronics prices may rise as a result of U.S. trade policies. ASRock has already said that it will incur additional costs as a result of having to relocate production due to the new duties.

The US has imposed a 10% tariff on imports from China, and Donald Trump has promised that this is just the beginning. The policy is aimed at encouraging manufacturers to move factories to the US. ASRock has already started moving some production out of China, with plans to partner with factories in Vietnam and Taiwan.

The relocation of production is due to the costs that manufacturers can compensate through higher prices. An ASRock spokesperson admitted that the company will either absorb some of the costs or raise prices, but the fierce competition in the market complicates the process.

Additional complications may arise if the U.S. imposes up to 100% duties on electronics from Taiwan. This would affect not only the US market, but also global prices for graphics cards, consoles and laptops.

According to the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), Donald Trump's election will result in a 25–68% increase in the price of electronics in the United States. This is because the newly elected US president wants to put more economic pressure on China by raising import taxes on a range of goods.

Ordinary Americans will see price increases on laptops by 45–68%, game consoles by 40–58%, monitors and TVs by 31-48%, and smartphones by 26-40% if Trump succeeds in his plans to impose tariffs on imported goods ranging from 10% to 20% (or 60% to 100% in the case of China).
