Yoko, Okabe, and I are constantly discussing what we'd like to create together. We'll be able to share more details about the project soon, so please look forward to it. It may or may not be related to NieR (laughs).

Saito also hinted at another project in development, which the game director holds in high regard:

We want to create something that has never existed in the world before, and we're working on it with great enthusiasm. I can't fully dedicate myself to this project, so almost everything is delegated to the team, but the project promises to be interesting. I'm eagerly awaiting the day when I can announce it.

The NieR series is known for popular games such as Replicant and Automata. The latter, released in 2017, received high praise from critics and players for its captivating storyline, innovative combat system, and Keiichi Okabe's outstanding music. Additionally, the main heroine 2B won the hearts of many gamers and otaku worldwide. Automata is considered one of the best games of its generation.
