In February, company management introduced new rules aimed at boosting productivity by requiring employees to return to office work.

Additionally, Paradox Interactive plans to completely abandon the three-day hybrid work schedule implemented during the pandemic and revert to a standard four-day work week.

The decision has sparked sharp criticism among developers. According to an internal survey of over 300 employees, 54% are seriously considering leaving the company due to unacceptable working conditions.

This is far from the first case in the gaming industry where developers have resisted giving up their comfortable pandemic-era arrangements post-COVID. This stance has generated reactions ranging from mere bewilderment to outright mockery from gamers. While crunch and other workplace issues undoubtedly exist across all major companies - problems that absolutely need addressing - reducing the work week by 1.5 times while maintaining remote work (which inevitably prolongs development timelines and increases costs) is hardly a viable solution.
