We have nothing against different collaborations between gaming and esports and other popular brands. Goddess of Victory: NIKKE is stepping up to the plate—literally. It is teaming with the San Diego Padres for a two-part crossover that includes baseball-themed in-game costumes and a special event during the Padres vs. Dodgers match, which will occur on June 10.
This follows a growing trend of anime and game collabs in U.S. sports. From One Piece on the Lakers court to Hololive lighting up the Dodgers’ stadium, Eastern pop culture is finding a home in the MLB.

Now, NIKKE joins the game. Known for its flashy, post-apocalyptic style and female android fighters, the mobile shooter has exploded in popularity. Players collect Nikkes—heavily stylized soldiers designed to battle robotic threats and, let’s be real, also push mobile gacha sales.
The crossover event promises exclusive merch, themed activities, and baseball skins inside the game. While fans of NIKKE are excited, some have raised eyebrows over how the game’s suggestive content will mesh with a family-friendly baseball setting.
It’s still unclear how far the integration will go. Will it be as elaborate as Hololive’s past events, with drone shows and photo booths? We’ll have to wait and see.
