FX has officially confirmed that the highly anticipated science fiction series Alien: Earth will debut on August 12. To celebrate the premiere, the network will release the first two episodes on that day, with the remaining six to be broadcast weekly every Tuesday. This marks one of FX’s most ambitious sci-fi projects to date, aiming to expand the legacy of the Alien universe.

The series takes place two years before the events of the original 1979 Alien film by Ridley Scott. The story begins when an alien spaceship crashes on Earth, unleashing terrifying creatures into the world. The crash draws the attention of an unusual trio: Wendy, a young woman with an adult body but the cognitive maturity of a child; her loyal android companion Kirsch; and a group of military personnel who must face the unknown threat.

Starring Sydney Chandler (Pistol, Sugar), Essie Davis (The Babadook), Timothy Olyphant (Deadwood), and Alex Lawther (The Last Duel), the series features a talented cast. Noah Hawley, best known for Fargo and Legion, serves as showrunner, while Ridley Scott returns as executive producer, maintaining his deep connection with the franchise he helped establish.
