When we talk about an actor like Keanu Reeves, what role comes to mind? For some, it’s Neo, for others, John Constantine or Johnny Silverhand. But for many, the answer is clear: John Wick.
That being said, the Canadian actor isn’t getting any younger, and starring in hardcore action films is becoming increasingly demanding. Still, he’s got one more in him, and we can only hope we get to see it.
For now, Lionsgate has officially announced at CinemaCon that Keanu Reeves will return as the legendary assassin in John Wick 5. The movie will once again be directed by Chad Stahelski, the filmmaker behind the previous entries in the franchise.
Additionally, the John Wick universe is expanding with an animated prequel and a standalone film about the blind assassin Caine, played and directed by Donnie Yen.
At the moment, there’s no plot details or release window for John Wick 5. Unlike Marvel and Disney, who plan out release dates years in advance, this project is still in its early stages. In the meantime, fans can look forward to another John Wick spin-off, Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas, which is set to hit theaters on June 5.
