While the world continues to witness events that would have seemed unimaginable not so long ago, the kings of biting political satire—South Park—are making their return!

This summer, Trey Parker and Matt Stone will present the show's 27th season. Usually, by this point, creators run out of ideas and struggle to come up with anything fresh, but that doesn’t seem to be the case with South Park (in my subjective opinion, the best episode in the show’s history aired in Season 23). Yes, the creators took a long break, and they’re likely coming back with a stockpile of new ideas. The season trailer hints at some major events.

Set to ominous music, the trailer showcases plane crashes, rapper Diddy embarking on a space journey, and an all-out war against Canada. Just from this short preview, it's clear that we’re in for some seriously spicy satire that will pull no punches. Most likely, watching these new episodes will be both hilarious and terrifying at the same time.
