Sometimes it’s really hard to understand the principles behind the entertainment industry. What dictates the decision to adapt a particular story? What resonates in the hearts of producers?
The company Story Kitchen, which is working on the adaptation of the game It Takes Two, has started active development on a feature film based on Split Fiction. As reported by Variety, several Hollywood studios are vying for the rights to the adaptation, and currently, the team is in the process of searching for actors, screenwriters, and directors.
It’s worth taking a brief step back to note that there haven’t been many updates on It Takes Two, and the development hell factor hasn’t gone anywhere. So celebrating too early might be premature. Plus, it's important to recognize that Hazelight’s games are heavily gameplay-driven, making their transition to the big screen a challenging task.
Split Fiction was released on March 6, 2025: within a short period, the game secured its status as a bestseller, selling over two million copies in its first week and receiving excellent reviews.
The story follows two author characters who find themselves trapped inside their own stories. To escape back to the real world, they must go through various trials and battles.
