Apple held a presentation for the new iPhone 16 lineup, which consists of four devices. iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus retain the previous screen sizes. The key upgrade is the new six-core A18 processor with a five-core graphics unit, built using a 3-nanometer process. New chip is 30% faster overall than the A16 Bionic in the previous model, and 40% faster in terms of graphics performance. The A18 also includes a 16-core NPU for AI-based tasks.

Both these models now feature the Action Button, previously exclusive to the Pro version, and a completely new physical Camera Control button. The camera itself consists of two modules: a 48 MP main sensor and a 12 MP ultra-wide lens with autofocus.

The devices also come with a new cooling system for improved performance during resource-intensive tasks like gaming. These two models will be offered in five colors, with prices starting at $800 and $900 for the simple and Plus models.

As for the Pro versions, they now have larger screens compared to their predecessors: 6.3 inches for the iPhone 16 Pro and 6.9 inches for the iPhone 16 Pro Max. The refresh rate remains at 120 Hz. The Pro versions will also be equipped with the more powerful A18 Pro chip and a triple-camera system, including a 48 MP ultra-wide lens. You will have a choice between four colours, with the Pro version starting at $1,000 and the Pro Max at $1,200.

Every model of this generation will feature new AI-based Apple Intelligence functions. These include an AI assistant that can easily identify objects in photos, remove items from images, quickly find files, edit messages, and more. The iPhone 16 will be available for purchase starting September 20.
