NVIDIA has just introduced the GeForce RTX 5060, a new mid-range graphics card priced at $299. It officially goes on sale May 19, and on the same day, gaming laptops with the RTX 5060 will hit stores starting at $1099.

While full specs haven't been shared yet, NVIDIA did reveal some performance details from its own tests. According to the company, the RTX 5060 can be up to six times faster than the older RTX 3060 — but only when using multi-frame generation, a technology that boosts performance by creating extra frames during gameplay. And, as we all learned with previous announcements, this might very well be a marketing trick to cover for lack of progress.

However, without this feature early estimates suggest the RTX 5060 is around 20–25% more powerful than the 3060. Of course, the real performance will only be clear once independent reviewers get their hands on the card.

The release is scheduled just one day before Computex 2025 — a big tech event where AMD and Intel are also expected to show off their own mid-range GPUs. Looks like the battle for the best budget-friendly graphics card is heating up fast.
