NVIDIA has announced a new lineup of graphics cards. The RTX 50 Series is based on the Blackwell architecture and places a strong emphasis on AI technologies. The company’s leader, Jensen Huang, introduced four different models:
- NVIDIA RTX 5090 - $1999
- NVIDIA RTX 5080 - $999
- NVIDIA RTX 5070Ti - $749
- NVIDIA RTX 5070 - $549
The former two models will be available in the end of January, while the later two will arrive in February. Nvidia claims that 50 series graphic cards are twice as better compared to their 40 series counterpart.
The initial reaction from users online has been surprise at the relatively low price of the 5070, especially considering that, according to Jensen Huang, it is capable of delivering performance comparable to the NVIDIA RTX 4090.
However, there is one caveat: considering how much attention NVIDIA has paid to AI, there might be concerns about how the graphics card performs with more traditional tasks. For this reason, we will have to wait for independent benchmarks.
On the other hand, the RTX 5090 was heavily praised during the presentation, with its performance benchmarks showcased. This is not surprising, considering it’s the flagship model. According to the presentation, the 5090 will be far superior to the 4090, but as with any presentation, some details are kept under wraps.
So, we’ll be waiting for more details but keeping a close eye on the NVIDIA RTX 50 Series with interest.
