Warner Bros. Japan has revealed plans for an anime adaptation of Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s acclaimed light novel All You Need Is Kill Directed by Kenjiro Akimoto and produced by STUDIO 4°C, the project has already treated fans to a teaser trailer and official poster.

The original novel first hit shelves in Japan in December 2004, followed by an English release in July 2009. Its success inspired a manga adaptation illustrated by Takeshi Obata and written by Resuke Takeuchi in 2014. Later that year, the story was adapted into the Hollywood film Edge of Tomorrow featuring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt in leading roles.

The story follows Keiji Kiriya, a young soldier thrust into battle against the alien Mimics after being equipped with combat armor called the "Jacket." Trapped in a time loop, Keiji dies and resurrects daily, reliving the same brutal conflict endlessly. On the 158th cycle, he encounters a cryptic ally—the infamous "Full Metal Bitch." Together, they may uncover the key to breaking the loop—or face utter destruction.

This anime promises to deliver a unique take on the iconic sci-fi narrative, combining cutting-edge animation with the emotional depth that made the original story so memorable.
