Players in Counter-Strike 2 reported malfunctions with smoke grenades after the release of the latest patch. A Reddit user published a video showcasing the bug.
In the video, the author demonstrated seeing the movement of an opponent on the mini-map, even though their line of sight was obscured by smoke at that moment. The cause of the error is unknown.

Other users noted that similar issues had also occurred in previous patches, including in CS:GO.
The first major update for Counter-Strike 2 was released on February 7th. The update contained numerous bugs, so Valve released a hotfix on February 8th. The update fixed several errors. It appears the smoke issue emerged after this.
