The week after Counter-Strike 2 celebrated its first anniversary, Valve released a huge update titled Armory. It is mostly focused on new in-game items. The main feature is the Armory Pass. Armory Pass costs $17 and is a tool to earn rewards via stars. Each pass allows you to earn 40 stars at a maximum speed of five stars per day, and you can use these stars to get rewards.
What rewards can you get from Armory Pass?
- Limited skin for Desert Eagle. Heat Treated is a reimagination of a well-known Case Hardened skin. This pistol will be available for 100 days and costs 25 stars.
- Weapon Charms. There are currently two different collections. Each capsule costs three stars, and charms can be put anywhere on the gun. Be warned, that you can't remove charms for free, as you will need to buy a special tool for $1.
- Three new collections. Overpass 2024 collection skins take inspiration from the Overpass map. Skins from the Graphic collection have bright colours and geometry patterns inspired by print media. The Sport & Field collection features simple and clean skins which look gorgeous thanks to the Source 2 engine. Each container will cost you four stars.
- Gallery Case. New case features skins which are inspired in one way or another by world art. For two stars you get the case without a key to open it.
- Stickers. Valve released two sticker collections that are not attractive enough by themselves but can be used for great sticker combos.
Besides Armory Pass, Valve developers also updated the animations and netcode. The game should run smoother. However, lots of new bugs appeared, and you could see the infamous Error textures as well as experience a 10-15% fps drop. Considering this update is the biggest in CS2 history, it would take some time to fix the bugs. Counter-Strike 2 is alive and this update definitely proves it!
