Valve is known for its minimal communication with the community, preferring to let its actions speak rather than words, as reflected in its rare social media activity. For this reason, any update or change draws considerable attention. Recently, the developers of CS2 updated their banner on X, and fans speculate that this might be a teaser for an updated version of the Train map.
The banner image shows only a texture that appears to be cracked, wet asphalt. The hints pointing towards Train also include recent updates to soundscapes that mention rain and thunder.
Previously, dataminers had already hinted that Valve might be working on an updated version of Train. Insider Aquarius shared files that seem to support this theory.
Train originally appeared in one of the CS2 trailers, but at the time of writing, the map has yet to be added to the game. Valve has not disclosed any plans for its addition to CS2. Typically, Valve makes changes to the map pool around the time of a Major. If Train is added, it will be interesting to see which map might leave the competitive pool. Many players are hoping for Vertigo to be replaced, but will the developers make that choice? Hopefully, we won’t have to wait too long to find out.
