Valve recently announced it will have a new season of premier matchmaking started this week, and the update is here. People in the community were waiting for a big update that will have an impact on every aspect of the game. However, that didn't happen.
First of all, this update is exclusively about changes to game balance. Train is in the competitive map pool, Vertigo is officially out, and with that came changes to several weapons. Both M4A1-S and M4A4 now cost the same, and this might bring a great shift to meta. Many pro players think M4A4 is far superior when it comes to balance, but that was compensated with a bigger price tag. However, now both weapons cost the same, and we might see the downfall of M4A1-S.
More important changes arrived to FAMAS and several SMGs. It looks like Valve was not happy with how popular were some of the guns in the force buy and anti-eco rounds. Why would you think of buying FAMAS when you can easily buy an MP9 for less money and gain more? Now FAMAS price is reduced by $100, its accuracy is improved, and MP9, MP5-SD and MP7 got their crouching accuracy reduced. This should make players think twice when they are low on money.
Season Two will last for several months and end soon after the conclusion of the Austin Major. At least, this is the plan, but always keep in mind the Valve Time.
