Counter-Strike fan Falconx1337 warned other gamers against playing CS2 on Windows 7. According to the user, he got banned for running the new version of the shooter on the outdated operating system. The gamer shared his story on Reddit.
The same problem was reported by some players on Steam. According to user reviews, they were blocked in the shooter allegedly for using prohibited utilities. At the same time, they claim not to have used cheats or any third-party software.
People using Windows 7 discussed the situation on forums and concluded that the problem lies specifically in the incorrect operation of Counter-Strike 2 with the operating system. The fact of the block was confirmed by at least several dozen people who still use this OS.
Developers from Valve did not care about the compatibility of Counter-Strike 2 with older operating systems. Technically, the game runs smoothly on Windows 7, but the built-in anti-cheat systems recognize it as fraud and instantly block players.
Banned players have already reached out to the developers, but they have not yet issued an official explanation. Most likely, Valve will lift the ban, but expecting support for Windows 7 in CS2 is not worth it. According to official Steam statistics, only 1% of users use this operating system.
