Before the grand final of The International 2024, the developers announced a new hero in Dota 2: Kez, a bird samurai. A trailer dedicated to the hero was shown at the event.

According to the hero's announcement, Kez will be released alongside the fourth and final act of Crownfall. Unlike the previous acts, the final chapter doesn't have an official release date in the game client.

However, dataminers previously found a schedule for the act releases in Dota's files. According to them, the fourth act of Crownfall will be available on September 24th. This means Kez's release is likely to happen on the same day — September 24, 2024, assuming Valve doesn't change its plans.

Kez is likely Kestrel, the bird warrior we met in the third act of Crownfall. Vengeful Spirit arrived in the icy wastelands of Icewrack to join forces with him against the queen. In the storyline, Kestrel is one of the leaders of the Kazurai people and a skilled warrior.

In the trailer, Kez is shown as a melee hero who skillfully wields a saber. It's likely that the character will be quite mobile, with abilities related to dashing or other forms of quick movement.

Based on the trailer, it's speculated that Kez will be an agility hero, potentially used as a carry or mid.
