Sony appears to be testing a new pricing model, starting with Ghost of Yotei. Following in the footsteps of Microsoft and Nintendo, PlayStation might be laying the groundwork for global price adjustments, with Brazil as the first testing ground.

Ghost of Yotei, developed by Sucker Punch and available for preorder on PS5, saw its price rise significantly in the Brazilian PS Store. The standard version now costs R$399.90, and the digital deluxe version has jumped to R$449.90. This 50 real increase was made without any formal announcement from Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Interestingly, still holds its previous price of R$350. This disparity may suggest Sony is using Ghost of Yotei to gauge consumer response before implementing wider pricing changes.

Brazil has previously been the first market where Sony adjusted PlayStation Plus subscription and console prices. With the USD/BRL exchange rate at 5.66, the new R$399.90 price aligns closely with the global $70 standard, reinforcing suspicions of a larger pricing shift in progress.
