American CS2 player Adam "nbgee12" Zanzoul was detained for stealing SSDs of participants of IEM Dallas 2024. The esports player managed to gain access to an unsecured backstage area where he took the drives belonging to Stewie2K, NiKo, and Nertz. He then brought them to his hotel, but ESL and the police were able to identify him from security footage.

Nbgee12 confessed to the deed during a livestream of professional CS2 player CoJoMo. He said a security guard let him in despite the late hour and his lack of credentials. He streamed the incident to friends on Discord.

When asked to explain his actions, Zanzoul admitted that he was under the influence. He thought it would be a minor offense without serious consequences.

The tournament organizers chose not to press charges against nbgee12. Instead, they banned him from participating in their events. Zanzoul also received a lifetime ban on FACEIT. The SSD incident occurred two months after nbgee12 was pardoned for unprofessional behavior and an attempt at match-fixing in FPL-C.

IEM Dallas 2024 took place from May 27 to June 2 in the USA. Participants competed for $250,000. The tournament was won by G2 Esports, who defeated Team Vitality in the final with a score of 2-1.
