ESL annulled Heroic's victory on the first map in their match against Ninjas in Pyjamas at ESL Pro League Season 20 in CS2. The decision was made due to the use of Snap Tap by one of the club's players.
Initially, Heroic defeated their opponents on Ancient with a score of 13:10. However, after further investigation, the map was awarded to NiP. The community reports that it was specifically TeSeS who was found to have active software that affected strafing.
It's important to note that this was likely unintentional. G2 sniper m0NESY mentioned that Snap Tap automatically activates on his keyboard when switching computers, requiring manual deactivation. It is possible that a similar situation occurred here.
In August 2024, ESL announced that Snap Tap and similar functions would be banned at its tournaments starting from ESL Pro League S20. BLAST also implemented similar restrictions. These changes came after Valve officially prohibited the Snap Tap technology and its equivalents in official matchmaking.
ESL Pro League Season 20 is taking place from September 3 to 22 in Malta, with participants from around the world competing for a prize pool of $750,000. The champion will earn $170,000.
