The LCK regional finals have concluded the qualification cycle for the League of Legends World Championship. There was heightened attention on the events in South Korea, as the fate of the reigning world champions, T1, led by Hall of Legends member Faker, was on the line.

T1 entered the regional finals as the top-seeded team, giving them an excellent opportunity to secure a spot at Worlds by winning their first match against Dplus. However, despite the intense competition that went all five games, T1 lost the match.

Fortunately, T1 still had a chance in the lower bracket. Their match against KT Rolster was also a back-and-forth battle, with viewers once again hearing Silver Scrapes, the song that plays before a decisive fifth game. This time, T1 emerged victorious, securing their spot in the Swiss round of the World Championship.

The greatest player in League of Legends history and four-time world champion, Faker, will have the chance to defend his title on the international stage. Worlds 2024 will kick off on September 25 with the play-in stage.
