The League of Legends World Championship in 2025 will take place in China. Riot Games made this announcement in conjunction with the expansion of its global partnership with Chinese mobile phone manufacturer OPPO.

Details about the specific cities hosting different stages of the championship and the location of the grand final have not yet been disclosed. Riot Games has promised to reveal more information during a media day on November 2, ahead of the final match of the 2024 World Championship.

The primary points of interest are not only the cities but also the arenas, as Riot Games set a high standard with previous tournaments held in China. It will be fascinating to observe how interest in the game evolves.

This will be the third LoL World Championship held in China. Previous tournaments were hosted in the country in 2017 (won by Samsung Galaxy) and in 2020 (won by DAMWON).

Worlds 2024 runs from September 25 to November 2, with stages hosted in Berlin, Paris, and London. This weekend, we will watch two semifinal matches. The winners will move on to the finals.
