American FPS player Nick "nitr0" Cannella has announced his return to CS 2. He has joined the organization NRG, where he will take on the role of captain.

In the team, the veteran will replace Colby "Walco" Walsh. Cannella's first tournament will be the regional ESL Challenger League Season 48 for North America.

This marks the second return of a well-known American player to Counter-Strike. Both times he left to play Valorant professionally, but neither attempt was successful, and the esports player did not achieve any significant results in Riot Games' shooter.

Considering that Counter-Strike has moved from the Global Offensive version to CS2, it is unknown if nitr0 is able to get back to his former level.

Cannella's previous team in CS was Team Liquid. With them, he won several major LAN tournaments and became the champion of Intel Grand Slam Season 2. Whether he can lead NRG to success remains to be seen, although the club has assembled a rather promising roster.
