The Shanghai Major playoffs are shaping up to be one of the most stacked events in the competitive history of the game. The very first match delivered a major surprise: MOUZ defeated The MongolZ with a clean 2:0 score. This result can be considered an upset, especially given that the Asian team was a crowd favorite and a popular pick among talent. Many pick'ems predicted The MongolZ would emerge as tournament winners.

MOUZ, a team many dismissed amid the hype around the Mongolian players, proved everyone wrong. The prodigy managed to secure two aces on a single map, delivering critical blows. Team Liquid, however, aren’t too disheartened by the result: they put up a respectable fight, with Twistzz securing several key rounds. The team remains a work in progress, with plenty of room to grow.

Tomorrow, the two remaining quarter finals will take place, and anything can happen. The next three days promise thrilling CS2 action from the world’s best teams!
