At the Future Game Show, Frosthaven was announced—a new tactical game inspired by the popular board game created by Isaac Childres. The project is being developed by Snapshot Games, the studio led by Julian Gollop, the creator of the original XCOM series. Childres himself is actively involved in the development, serving as a consultant. The game is scheduled for release on PC in late 2025.
Frosthaven continues the legacy of its predecessor, Gloomhaven, offering players a dark fantasy setting, a deep tactical system, and the possibility of cooperative multiplayer. As part of the announcement, the first gameplay trailer was revealed, showcasing the key mechanics and atmosphere of the project.
A closed beta test will begin on March 27 and run until April 24. Those interested can apply to participate on the official website, PlayFrosthaven.com. The developers are inviting both fans of the digital version of Gloomhaven and enthusiasts of the original Frosthaven board game to help refine the game before its release in Steam Early Access.
Frosthaven promises to set a new standard in the world of board game adaptations, combining faithfulness to the original with accessibility for new players. The project aims not only to meet the expectations of fans but also to attract those who will be exploring this universe for the first time.
