Obsidian Entertainment plans to announce the postponement of Avowed until early 2025. This information was shared by The Verge editor Tom Warren, citing his sources.

The decision to delay Avowed was not due to development issues or technical difficulties. Instead, the studio chose to postpone the game because many major titles are being released in the fall.

According to previous leaks, Avowed was scheduled to release in November 2024. Earlier, GSC Game World postponed the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl to November 20. It's possible that Microsoft decided to slightly delay Avowed to avoid releasing two major Game Pass titles in the same month and to prevent them from competing with each other.

Obsidian will bring Avowed to the Gamescom 2024 exhibition. The studio will showcase the game at the event. It's possible that during this presentation, the developers will announce the delay and specify the new release date. We'll have to wait less than three weeks before the event in Cologne.
