With regular updates, NetEase Games hopes to satisfy Marvel Rivals players. The developers intend to release an update roughly once every month and a half, with the addition of two new heroes every quarter. As a result, there will always be something new for players to discover when they return to the game.
In an interview, game director Guangyun Chen disclosed that every seasonal update is split into two sections: the first half of the season sees the addition of one hero, and the second half sees the addition of the next hero.
Both the audience and the players will remain engaged with this strategy. Marvel Rivals will provide updates in the form of maps, stories, and objectives in addition to new heroes. Blade, who isn't yet playable, and Altron, who is known about because of leaks, are two of the previously introduced characters. The appearance of the entire Fantastic Four team was also recently made public.
The game earned roughly $100 million worldwide, with the Chinese market contributing the remaining earnings, according to the Chinese publication GameLook. Marvel, which has long held a dominant position in the film industry, made a significant move by entering the gaming industry.
A gap in the game-service genre was effectively filled by Marvel Rivals, despite a negative experience with Square Enix's Avengers. The NetEase studio was able to provide a high-caliber heroic shooter with a number of compelling characters, and it was well-reviewed at launch.
