Studio 10 Chambers Collective, known for the hardcore co-op game GTFO and involvement in developing the first two Payday titles, gave journalists the opportunity to play the pre-alpha version.

The story unfolds in 2049 in Midway City — a technological citadel where the elite have fled from the chaos caused by AI terrorism. Of particular interest are the vaults with biometric protection, where security systems operate based on the human brain.

Sound designer Simon Viklund (a contributor to the Payday projects) revealed a morally complex choice: players can work for either corporations or rebels. The sci-fi setting unlocks unique opportunities:

  • Full optical stealth mode for reconnaissance
  • Energy shields and auto-turrets for assaults
  • "Dives" — digital raids in neural networks with altered physics laws

We've learned from Payday 3's failed launch. Using our experience with the first Payday games, we're creating the heist game fans have been waiting for.

At the start of Early Access, one district with missions will be available. Free updates will add new locations, while paid DLCs will offer exclusive scenarios. As with GTFO, the game will first launch in Steam Early Access in a pre-alpha state. This approach will allow the community to observe the entire project development cycle — from rough drafts to the final product.

Journalists note the unexpected polish for a pre-alpha and engaging gameplay but refrain from predictions, keeping Payday 3's history in mind.
