According to insider TheGhostofHope, in the upcoming Call of Duty installment, developers plan to restrict access to Limited-Time Modes (LTMs) for players without a Battle Pass. Essentially, game modes that were previously available to all users for free may now become part of paid content priced at $20–30.
The source also reports that popular skins and cosmetic items, previously distributed through premium events, will be moved to the Battle Pass system (which could be seen as a positive change). However, regular players will now face a choice: either purchase the pass or lose access to new activities.
If this information is confirmed, it will likely cause backlash—especially given the announced $80 price tag for Call of Duty 2025.
The new installment will be a futuristic sequel to Black Ops 2, set between 2030 and 2035. The project was originally set to include remastered maps from the classic BO2, but according to recent reports, the game's scale and structure have undergone significant changes during the final months of development.
