Valve is back from the New Year holidays, and developers across various games are starting to delight us with new patches. After the announcement that Deadlock is moving away from its bi-weekly update cycle, we expected a patch with an extensive changelog, but Valve decided to go easy on both themselves and us at the start of the year.

The patch addressed only one hero: Yamato received a slight nerf (a reduction in damage scaling and a lower attack speed bonus at the first level of Shadow Transformation). Additionally, Frenzy, Berserker, and Restorative Shot were weakened, while Alchemical Fire was slightly reworked.

Now, it's highly likely that we’ll have to wait for a larger patch. When will that be? At this point, predicting it is almost impossible.

It's worth noting that Deadlock has lost a significant portion of its player base recently. Perhaps this is due to many players currently immersed in Marvel Rivals, but for a game still in deep beta, a steady online player count of 7,000–19,000 is not a bad result. As a reminder, Valve has yet to announce any potential release dates or details about the monetization model.
