The big presentation for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach kicked off with a lengthy ten-minute trailer, which ended with the reveal of the official release date. Hideo Kojima’s new game is set to launch on June 26, 2025, exclusively on PS5.
Additionally, the developers announced that pre-orders will open next Monday, March 17. The standard digital edition will cost $70, while the expanded edition will be priced at $80. A collector’s physical edition will also be available for $230.
Saying that the trailer looks stunning would be an understatement. The soundtrack is also top-tier, with Hideo Kojima choosing a track by Woodkid to enhance the atmosphere.
Throughout the trailer, thousands of viewers in the live chat made comparisons to "Rumbling" from Attack on Titan and Snake from Metal Gear Solid. We got a glimpse of several new characters and hints at massive action sequences. The tagline "We Shouldn't Have Connected" raises even more questions. We’ll get our answers this summer.
