Low Roar became a global sensation after their music was featured in the original Death Stranding. One of their atmospheric songs was even used in the game's first trailer, setting the tone for the whole experience. However, following the death of frontman Ryan Karazija in late 2022, fans were unsure if the band’s music would return in the sequel.

In a new interview with IGN, Hideo Kojima revealed that Death Stranding 2 will indeed include songs by Low Roar. He shared that Ryan’s family initially approached him with a request to use some unfinished songs, but he declined because he didn’t feel right altering Karazija’s work.

This posthumous album, titled House in the Woods, was released in February 2025 and marks Low Roar’s sixth and final studio album.

Kojima confirmed that some tracks from House in the Woods have made it into Death Stranding 2’s soundtrack. As with the first game, the sequel will also feature music from other artists, including Woodkid and Caroline Polachek. The game has officially gone gold and will launch on June 26 exclusively for PS5.
