The long-awaited ModKit will debut in inZOI by the end of May. Developers have prepared an ambitious plan featuring three major game modification phases for 2025:

  • May - A basic set for modifying clothing and furniture, supplemented with a game data editor. This version of the toolkit will later be "refined based on community feedback"
  • September - Players will receive tools for customizing character appearances (facial features, hairstyles) and architectural elements (doors, windows, columns). Developers will also add functionality for editing dialogues, voice lines, and animated scenes
  • December - An enhanced wardrobe modding system, behavior scenario editing, and multilingual support. As the studio assures, this will enable creation of "truly polished user-generated content"

This comes amid an exodus of many players disappointed with the game's initial functionality - despite developers' clear statements that the game launched in Early Access and would improve gradually. Strangely enough, a fundamental feature like the editor wasn't added at release, with its scripting capabilities only coming at the end of 2025.

Unfortunately, the current modding situation appears to be an attempt to shift some content creation onto players themselves. At present, the game essentially offers only an advanced character creator and building editor.
